Hip and Knee Replacement Orthopedic Surgeon

Dr. Samuel Rosas, MD, PhD, MBA is a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon specializing in hip and knee replacement, adult joint reconstruction, and revision joint replacement surgery. He provides comprehensive care for patients with hip and knee arthritis, osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, post-traumatic arthritis, avascular necrosis, and painful or failed joint replacements. He also treats complex conditions, including implant loosening, instability, dislocation, periprosthetic joint infection, and bone loss following previous hip or knee replacement surgery.

Dr. Rosas completed advanced fellowship training in adult reconstruction at a high-volume academic medical center, where he gained specialized expertise in primary and revision hip and knee replacement, complex reconstruction, and the management of periprosthetic joint infections. He incorporates evidence-based techniques and modern technology into every stage of treatment, including robotic-assisted joint replacement, personalized implant selection, cementless fixation, anterior and posterior hip replacement approaches, muscle-sparing knee replacement techniques, and data-guided surgical planning when appropriate.

He believes that successful joint replacement begins with understanding each patient's symptoms, lifestyle, and long-term goals. Dr. Rosas works closely with patients to determine whether surgery is the right option and develops individualized treatment plans focused on restoring mobility, relieving joint pain, and improving function. His goal is to help patients return to walking, exercising, caring for family, and participating in the activities that matter most to them.

Growing up in a family of physicians inspired Dr. Rosas to pursue a career in medicine. His international educational background, multilingual fluency in English, Spanish, and German, and experience in scientific research, including spaceflight research, have shaped his collaborative and patient-centered approach to orthopaedic care.

In addition to caring for patients, Dr. Rosas remains active in orthopaedic research and medical education. He has authored peer-reviewed scientific publications, serves on editorial boards, and participates in medical mission work to expand access to orthopaedic care in underserved communities.

His commitment to research and lifelong learning allows him to provide patients with care that reflects current evidence and advances in hip and knee replacement surgery.
